The Model 585
Single Stationary Cartridge Mounted Seal ASI
has engineered the Model 585 for superior seal performance and
extended seal life. Only ASI offers three style options in our
universal single seal, each designed with advanced features
that not only perform well, but also perform "smart",
ensuring the highest quality at the lowest price today... and
tomorrow. |
|
Stationary Design-
The Model 585 derives sealing face alignment from the pump shaft,
not the stuffing box face, creating perfect sealing face squareness
automatically upon installation.
Drive Mechanism- ASI's patented Safe-T-StudsTM
transmit drive torque from the shaft to the seal from the inside
of the seal, preventing seal damage, misalignment and accidental
loosening common with other torque systems.
Reduced Spring Tension- During service, the
Model 585's piston device forces springs into their drilled
recesses eliminating spring fatigue, vapor deposits and uneven
face wear. This feature reduces spring tension at low pressures
and eliminates spring load completely at stuffing box pressures
greater than 50 p.s.i.
Assembly Devices- ASI's unique assembly devices
automatically center the lock collar and sleeve while "setting"
the seal within precise specifications. The Handy-CamsTM also
protect against damage in handling and upon installation, all
with the ease of one-step disengagement. |
| |
The Model 724
Single Stationary Cartridge Mounted Seal The
ASI Model 724 offers both enhanced corrosion resistance and
superior seal performance. The unique "split-housing"
gland plate design provides the strength and stability of metal
parts where beneficial, while protecting the process liquid
from metal contaminants. Advanced seal features like monolithic
seal faces, isolated springs, and ASI’s patented Safe-T-StudsTM
assure continuous, reliable service and optimal seal repairability. |
|
Non-Metallic Seal Trim-
Fabricated from a high performance PPS composite material, the
wetted seal components provide greater chemical resistance in
a wide range of applications without any trace chemical contamination.
Metallic Seal Chassis- Removed from the product,
the rigid metal gland plate and locking collar eliminate any
flexing of seal parts.
Monolithic Seal Faces- One piece construction
allows seal faces to compensate for temperature fluctuations
without the intermittent leakage caused by face distortion.
Optimum Seal Face Alignment- The stationary
design of the Model 724 in conjunction with the seal’s
self-adjusting cushioned rotary face guarantees perfectly aligned
seal faces.
Interchangeable Component Design-
Wetted seal parts are easily removed and replaced, simplifying
repairs and/or material upgrades in a "user-friendly"
fashion. |
| |
The Model 600
Dual Stationary Cartridge Mounted Seal The
ASI Model 600 is specially engineered to withstand greater radial
and axial movement common to larger equipment such as slurry
pumps, mixers and agitators. The seal components are designed
to work in unison, preventing under- or over-compression of
the seal faces, as well as increasing free movement of the seal. |
|
Unison Component Design- One set of springs,
independent of the seal gland plate, energizes both stationary
faces. Anti-rotation devices are positioned to give seal components
maximum movement. This allows the seal to move freely with the
pump shaft without increasing or decreasing the mechanical seal
load on the inboard or outboard seal faces.
Greater Radial Clearances- The Model 600's
design incorporates greater radial clearances between individual
seal components, enabling the seal to compensate for increased
shaft whip or radial thrust. |
| |
The Model 595
Dual Pumping Cartridge Mounted Seal The
ASI Model 595 offers a patented self-circulation heat removal
system; the first seal pumping system that actually removes
heat from the sealing faces while providing maximum movement
of liquid within a compact design.
|
|
Pumping Device-
The self-circulation device extends the full distance between
the inboard and outboard seal faces, removing heat at its source
and venting it into the flush outlet. This insures lubrication
and cooling to both sets of sealing faces while the seal is
circulating fluid.
Application Versatility- The Model 595's pumping
feature is engineered into a convenient, cartridge mounted seal
which fits all standard ANSI pumps. This patented design also
enables the Model 595 to successfully perform in vertical applications
and provides ideal usage in gas pressurized barrier fluid systems.
Increased Seal Life- All of the Model 595's
o-rings and secondary sealing surfaces are virtually static
under normal service conditions and are not required to adjust
for misalignment. The rotary seal face o-rings (typically the
"weakest link" in most pumping designs) are protected,
guaranteeing optimum seal life and superior seal performance.
Reciprocal Design- The Model 595 can be used
as a tandem seal, a double seal or a single seal with a spare
seal backup. The mechanism controlling closing force to the
inboard seal face is completely automatic and regulated by the
differential of pressure between the process and barrier fluid.
Metal Encased Seal Faces- Both inboard and
outboard seal faces are encased, protecting both plant personnel
and the environment from seal face failure. |
|
| |
|
The Model 590
Dual Stationary Cartridge Mounted Seal The
ASI Model 590 is designed to operate with the occasional fluctuations
that may occur in a seal barrier fluid supply. The features
found in the Model 590 make it ideal for handling the more difficult
to seal process liquids (including those that are sensitive
to contact with air or may have environmental consequences). |
|
|
Reciprocal Design-
The Model 590 can be used as a tandem seal, a double seal or
a single seal with a spare seal backup. The mechanism controlling
closing force to the inboard seal face is completely automatic
and regulated by the differential of pressure between the process
and barrier fluid.
Cartridge Mounted- Factory assembled and pressure
tested, the Model 590's cartridge unit simplifies installation
and allows impeller clearance adjustments to be made without
disassembling the pump.
Metal Encased Seal Faces- Both inboard and
outboard seal faces are encased, protecting both plant personnel
and the environment from seal face failure.
Stationary Design- The Model 590 derives sealing
face alignment from the pump shaft, not the stuffing box face,
creating perfect sealing face squareness automatically upon
installation.
Drive Mechanism- ASI's patented Safe-T-StudsTM
transmit drive torque from the shaft to the seal from the inside
of the seal, preventing seal damage, misalignment and accidental
loosening common with other torque systems. |

|
The Model 510
Dual Rotary Cartridge Mounted Seal Developed
to address the inherent problems associated with hot polymer,
pre-polymer, monomer and plastics applications, the Model 510
is the only canister-type double seal engineered with reciprocally
balanced seal faces. |
|
|
Low Expansion Metallurgy-
The Model 510's seal components are designed with the maximum
possible cross-sections and constructed with low expansion metallurgy
preventing the seal face distortion normally caused by pressure
spikes and high temperatures.
Reciprocal Balance- The reciprocal balance
of the Model 510 compensates for the varying pressures between
normal service (vacuum) and spikes that often occur. This ensures
the optimum seal face closure and prevents barrier fluid contamination,
providing uninterrupted seal service during the spike, and after
normal service resumes. |

The Model 730
Single Stationary Cartridge Mounted Seal
The ASI Model 730 provides a superior quality,
low cost alternative to "throw-away" seals. The Model
730's self-contained cartridge unit and detachable seal flange
allow a wide range of stocking and repair options. The reduced
operating length of the Model 730 creates stronger seal parts
(capable of running at higher pressures), and its stationary
design delivers the performance reliability the ASI name has
come to represent. |
|
|
Unitized
Cartridge Seal Barrel- The convenient one-piece assembly
easily detaches from the seal flange, allowing "mix and
match" stocking options and simplified replacement.
Monolithic Seal Faces- One piece construction
allows seal faces to compensate for temperature fluctuations
without the intermittent leakage caused by face distortion.
Uni-body Sleeve Construction- The advanced
machining techniques utilized to create the one-piece sleeve
provide optimum concentricity and perpendicularity for absolute
squareness to the pump shaft.
Interchangeable Flange Option- The removable
seal flange can be reused (reducing repair or replacement
costs), and easily swapped out to accommodate special bolting
patterns.
Optimum Seal Face Alignment- The combined
features of the Model 730, including its stationary design,
self-adjusting rotary face and uni-body sleeve construction,
guarantee perfectly aligned seal faces, and ultimately, improved
seal performance and increased seal life. |
